PREVIOUS DEVELOPMENT:
As part of Shaffer's residency with Theatre4thePeople @theBarn in June of 2025, they developed Earth, I Want to Stay. For the duration of their time, Shaffer utilized what they've learned in their previous New Play Development process of the play to write revisions and deeper mine some details. During their residency, Isaac Byrne put together a virtual read-through of the script, which greatly helped in the development process!
From March 30th to April 5th of 2025, Earth, I Want to Stay went through a New Play Development Workshop as a Student Driven Project, part of the Bloomsburg University Players' Mainstage Season. There were student actors, designers, a dramaturg, and stage management in collaboration. Colin Search was the Director.
There was a sharing of the play on April 5th in the Theatre Lab of the Arts and Administration building on CU-Bloomsburg's campus.
